Woburn Youth Hockey
The WYH program is designed to teach and develop hockey skills at all times emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork and responsibility in the overall context of having fun.
Ages
Appropriate players at least 7 years old who have completed at least one year of Learn-to-Play.
When
Season begins in September and runs until playoffs in March. Tryouts for the following season are usually held in March as well.
Where
Practices are at the O'Brien Rink in Woburn and games are played on the weekend held locally.
Practices & Skills
The full-season teams’ schedules are based on 1-2 practice per week for most weeks, and skills provided in the fall. (Note: additional practices are added as ice becomes available) Skills are held in Woburn.
Games
Teams will typically play over 30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
Jerseys
Jerseys and socks are required and are factored into the tuition. Fittings are usually done in May for the following season.
Extra Costs
Expect team managers to collect funds to cover tournament entry fees and fundraising (Golf Tournament).
